With an educational background in mathematics, computer science, and biomedical engineering, I started working with MRI in 2004. In 2008, I completed my Ph.D. on cardiovascular MRI (CMR) at Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby.

CMR stands out as the most promising candidate for performing a comprehensive evaluation of cardiac pathophysiology. However, the slow acquisition times of MRI render imaging of the beating heart extremely challenging, and currently CMR is too slow and complicated for clinical use.

My research aims to develop techniques that will promote CMR as a widespread clinical tool. Specifically, I am working on a mathematical model of the heart that allows automating the planning and analysis of CMR images. Also, I am engaged in developing motion-compensation techniques and imaging speed-up techniques that reduce the long scan times of CMR.

My research project, entitled "The Computerized Radiologist (ComRad)", is funded by The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.
