Quantitative measurement of cerebral blood flow (CBF) is an important tool both in the clinicalsetting and in neuroscience. Although CBF is considered relatively constant, studies using differenttechniques typically demonstrate intersubject variability by a factor of 2 and also significantintrasubject variability. To what extend this variability reflects “true” physiological variabilitycompared to methodological noise and bias is important in order to correctly interpret CBFmeasurements. The aims of the PhD project are both to validate the novel MR techniques formeasurement of CBF and to investigate the sources of variability in CBF measurements usingvarious modalities.Publication list1: Henriksen OM, Fritz-Hansen T, Jensen LT, Larsson HB.
